PVR
This gene encodes a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The intracellular domain interacts with the dynein light chain Tctex-1/DYNLT1, while the exterior domain enables cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix protein vitronectin. In the initial stage of poliovirus replication, the gene, which is unique to the primate lineage, acts as a cellular receptor for the poliovirus.
