CCR1
The beta chemokine receptor protein that this gene produces is projected to be a seven transmembrane protein, much like G protein-coupled receptors. The ligands for this receptor are monocyte chemoattractant protein 3 (MCP-3), RANTES, regulated on activation normal T expressed and secreted protein (MIP-1 alpha), and myeloid progenitor inhibitory factor-1 (MPIF-1). The signaling pathway regulated by chemokines and their receptors is essential for attracting effector immune cells to the site of inflammation. CCR5 Pathway in Macrophages and Chemokine Superfamily: Human/Mouse Ligand-Receptor Interactions are two of its associated pathways. This gene's Gene Ontology (GO) annotations include chemokine receptor activity and G protein-coupled receptor activity.
