    Applications
The TRPV4 gene in humans encodes the ion channel protein known as transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 4. The encoded protein is a nonselective, Ca2+-permeable cation channel that has been linked to a number of physiological dysfunctions, disorders, and diseases. It has a variety of roles, including the brain's control over systemic osmotic pressure, vascular, liver, intestinal, renal, and bladder functions, skin barrier and UVB radiation response, skeletal growth and structural integrity, joint function, airway and lung function, retinal and inner ear function, and pain. Chemical, mechanical, and osmotic stimuli all work to open the channel. It reacts to temperature variations as well. The customized TRPV4 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.
