    The SLC6A2 gene in humans encodes a protein called the norepinephrine transporter (NET), also referred to as the noradrenaline transporter (NAT). The sodium-chloride (Na+/Cl−)-dependent reuptake of extracellular norepinephrine (NE), also referred to as noradrenaline, is carried out by the monoamine transporter NET. Furthermore, extracellular dopamine (DA) can be reabsorbed by NET. The regulation of concentrations in the synaptic cleft is contingent upon the reuptake of these two neurotransmitters. Many antidepressants and recreational drugs target NETs and the other monoamine transporters. Additionally, ADHD is linked to an excess of NET. Evidence points to the NET gene (SLC6A2) single-nucleotide polymorphisms as a potential underlying cause of some of these illnesses. The customized SLC6A2 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Western blotting and 123I-MIBG uptake assays were used to evaluate the expression of NET in five human neuroblastoma cell lines. The endogenous expression of NET was shown to be high in SK-N-BE(2)C cells, moderate in SK-N-BE(2)N and SK-N-BE(1)N cells, and low in LAN1 and SK-N-SH cells, according to both tests.
