SLC6A2
A member of the sodium:neurotransmitter symporter family is encoded by this gene. This family member is a multi-pass membrane protein that controls the homeostasis of norepinephrine through reuptake into presynaptic nerve terminals. Orthostatic intolerance, a syndrome marked by dizziness, exhaustion, impaired cognition, and syncope, is brought on by mutations in this gene.
