    Applications
KCNJ4, sometimes referred to as Kir2.3 or potassium inwardly-rectifying channel, subfamily J, member 4, is a gene found in humans. The nervous system's electrical signaling is known to be mediated by a number of distinct potassium channels. This imbalance in the conductance of potassium ions is crucial for the excitability of neurons and muscle cells. This gene codes for an integral membrane protein that belongs to the family of potassium channels found in inward rectifiers. In comparison to other proteins in this family, the encoded protein has a low unitary conductance. For this gene, two transcript variants that encode the same protein have been discovered. The customized KCNJ4 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Fig.1 Correlations between miR-34c-5p and POU6F2-AS1 or KCNJ4.

Based on the TCGA database and the GEO dataset, the relative expression level of miR-34c-5p in LADC tissues and normal tissues. Using Pearson's correlation analysis, the association between miR-34c-5p, also known as POU6F2-AS1, and KCNJ4 was found.

    Research Highlights

Novel anticancer drugs inhibit the inward rectifier potassium channel family, which includes KCNJ4. Nevertheless, little is known about the biologic importance of KCNJ4 in lung adenocarcinoma (LADC).
