Extracts from CHO cells transfected with Htr1a-P2A-tdTomato or uncleavable Htr1a-*P2A-tdTomato plasmid showed the predicted cleaved P2A-tdTomato band and the uncleaved Htr1a-*P2A-tdTomato band, respectively, on a Western blot using anti-RFP or anti-Actin control antibodies.

These findings support the hypothesis that HTR1A and HTR5A play a role in the etiology of schizophrenia and raise the possibility that certain genetic variants in HTR5A contribute to executive dysfunction.
