    Applications
The Gastrin-Releasing Peptide Receptor (GRPR) has emerged as a significant target in scientific research, particularly in the realm of oncology. GRPR's role in prostate cancer has been highlighted in studies such as the synthesis and evaluation of radio-iodinated GRPR/PSMA bispecific heterodimers, which are seen as promising agents for theranostics applications in prostate cancer. Additionally, the development of GRPR-targeting radiopharmaceuticals, especially for targeted radioligand therapy application, has been underscored due to the low pancreas uptake of its derivatives. Furthermore, the potential of GRPR in the surgical removal of GRPR-positive tumors has been demonstrated through the development of dual-modality probes for nuclear and fluorescence imaging. Clinical studies of radioactive GRP analogues suggest promising opportunities for both diagnostic tumor imaging and radiotherapy of GRPR-expressing cancers. In essence, the application of GRPR in scientific research is vast, with its potential in diagnostics, therapeutics, and surgical interventions being actively explored.

chat Patrick Liam (Creative Biolabs Scientific Support)

No, GRPR is expressed in various tissues and plays diverse roles, including in the progression of prostate cancer and other urological cancers. May 08 2023

    chat Linda (Verified Customer)

Are there standardized criteria for interpreting GRPR-targeted PET? Apr 21 2020

chat Patrick Liam (Creative Biolabs Scientific Support)

Yes, modified PROMISE criteria have been proposed to aid clinicians in evaluating, reporting, and comparing GRPR-targeted PET. Apr 21 2020

    Published Data

Fig.1 Effect of GPPr knockdown on the imaging of A549 cells.

Both standard A549 cells and A549 cells with depleted GRPr were exposed to complex 8 (10 µM) for a duration of 2 hours. Cellular imagery was captured at λexcemi = 405/570−690 nm, and a scale bar of 25 μm was employed for reference.
