    Applications
All tissues, including arteries, immune-competent cells, epithelial cell layers, and all organs, including the heart and brain, include the universal membrane receptor known as PAR2. Its distribution is not constant and changes throughout embryonic development as well as under physiological and pathological situations. Organ genesis is characterized by minimal expression; expression then increases and peaks at particular intervals for each organ. After then, the levels drop to those that are typical of adult tissues. It has been proposed that these variations in PAR2 expression reflect differentiation levels. The cardiovascular system, which includes lymphatic vessels, depends on PAR2. On the endothelium and smooth muscle cells of arteries, PAR2 is widely distributed. Vasodilation and hypotension are the effects of PAR2 stimulation on the endothelium. Due to the high concentration of PAR2 found inside atherosclerotic plaques, atherosclerosis, a prevalent artery disease, is also connected to PAR2 stimulation. The customized F2RL1 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Published Data

    Fig.1 2AT-evoked p-ERK signaling is specific for F2rl1-expressing neurons.

After receiving 2AT, the amount of p-ERK signal increases noticeably in F2rl1-positive neurons. For F2rl1-positive neurons treated with vehicle or 2AT, the numbers were n = 15 and n = 16, respectively. In F2rl1-negative neurons, the numbers for the vehicle and 2AT treatment groups were both 88.

    Research Highlights

Lung-based macrophages constantly detect and sort through a variety of insults to start the immunological reactions vital to host defense. To maximize harm and repair post-infection, inflammatory tissue injury also triggers the activation of proteases and, as a result, the coagulation cascade.

Both tissue fibrosis and cancer have been associated with the signaling by transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) and agonists of the G protein-coupled receptors proteinase-activated receptor-1 (PAR1) and -2 (PAR2).
