TSHR
This gene encodes a membrane protein that is a key regulator of thyroid cell metabolism. The encoded protein functions as a receptor for thyrothropin and thyrostimulin, and adenylate cyclase is responsible for its activity. Multiple forms of hyperthyroidism are caused by defects in this gene. Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) signaling pathway and hormone ligand-binding receptors are two of its related routes. G protein-coupled receptor activity and thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor activity are two Gene Ontology (GO) annotations associated with this gene.
