TRPV6
A member of a family of multipass membrane proteins that serve as calcium channels is encoded by this gene. The N-terminal ankyrin repeats in the encoded protein are necessary for channel construction and control. Both transient neonatal hyperparathyroidism and severe neonatal hyperparathyroidism are diseases linked to TRPV6. Signaling events mediated by the CREB Pathway and PTP1B are two of its associated pathways.
