TNFRSF18
A member of the TNF-receptor superfamily is encoded by this gene. The encoded receptor has been demonstrated to express more when T-cells are activated, and it is believed to be crucial for the maintenance of dominant immunological self-tolerance by CD25(+)CD4(+) regulatory T cells. The function of this receptor in the control of CD3-driven T-cell activation and programmed cell death is also shown by knockout studies in mice.
