TGFBR1
When this gene's protein binds to TGF-beta, a heteromeric complex is created with type II TGF-beta receptors, which transmits the TGF-beta signal from the cell surface to the cytoplasm. A serine/threonine protein kinase is the protein that is encoded. This gene's mutations have been linked to the Loeys-Dietz aortic aneurysm syndrome (LDAS).
