PTH1R
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the second subfamily of G-protein coupled receptors. This protein functions as both a parathyroid hormone (PTH) and a hormone similar to parathyroid hormone receptor (PTHLH). G proteins that activate adenylyl cyclase and the phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger pathway control the activation of this receptor. Chondrodysplasias of the Jansen's metaphyseal (JMC), Blomstrand (BOCD), and enchodromatosis have been linked to defects in this receptor.
