P2RY6
This gene encodes a member of the P2 receptor family, which is further classified into P2X ligand-gated ion channels and P2Y G-protein coupled receptors. The P2 receptor family is activated by extracellular nucleotides. There are multiple receptor subtypes in this family that have overlapping pharmacological selectivity for diverse adenosine and uridine nucleotides. This G-protein coupled receptor responds to UDP, responds rather weakly to UTP and ADP, and does not respond to ATP. It has been suggested that this receptor controls inflammatory reactions.
