P2RX4
This gene's product is a member of the purinoceptors for ATP family. This receptor has a high calcium permeability and works as a ligand-gated ion channel. The relative sensitivity to the antagonists suramin and PPADS is the primary pharmacological difference between the purinoceptor family members. This gene's offspring is least sensitive to certain antagonists.
