NPY1R
This gene is a member of the superfamily of G-protein-coupled receptors. Neuropeptide Y (NPY), a neurotransmitter, and peptide YY (PYY), a gastrointestinal hormone, are both controlled by the same transmembrane protein. Fast agonist-induced internalization of the encoded receptor through clathrin-coated pits results in its subsequent recycling to the cell membrane. When Y1 receptors are activated, intracellular calcium may be mobilized and adenylate cyclase activity may be inhibited.
