MC5R
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the family of seven-pass transmembrane G protein-coupled melanocortin receptors, which promotes the transduction of the cAMP signal. It has been proposed that the encoded protein, a receptor for adrenocorticotropic hormone and melanocyte-stimulating hormone, contributes to the production of sebum. ADORA2B-mediated anti-inflammatory cytokine production and Class A are two of its associated mechanisms.
