MC4R
This gene encodes a membrane-bound receptor that belongs to the family of melanocortin receptors. The encoded protein interacts with adrenocorticotropic and MSH hormones and is mediated by G proteins. ADORA2B-mediated anti-inflammatory cytokine production and Syndecan-3-mediated signaling events are two of its associated pathways. This gene has annotations for G protein-coupled receptor function and peptide hormone binding in the Gene Ontology (GO) database.
