MAS1
A class I seven-transmembrane G-protein-coupled receptor is encoded by this gene. The encoded protein, which preferentially links to the Gq protein to activate the phospholipase C signaling pathway, functions as an angiotensin-(1-7) receptor. By modulating the actions of angiotensin II, the encoded protein may contribute to a number of processes, such as hypotension, smooth muscle relaxation, and cardioprotection (1-7).
