KCNC2
There are four subfamilies in the Drosophila Shaker gene family, which encodes parts of voltage-gated potassium channels. This gene resembles one of these subfamilies, the Shaw subfamily, based on sequence similarity. The protein that this gene produces is an integral membrane protein that regulates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. It is a member of the delayed rectifier class of channel proteins.
