HTR6
The seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor family of proteins is represented by the protein that this gene encodes. The encoding protein activates the cyclic AMP-dependent signaling pathway by stimulating adenylate cyclase and forming a pair with the Gs alpha subunit. It is believed that this receptor controls the brain's cholinergic neuronal transmission. This receptor is highly affine for a number of antidepressants and psychiatric medications.
