The guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein)-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily is represented by the protein that this gene encodes. The receptors are seven-pass transmembrane proteins that activate intracellular signal transduction pathways in response to external inputs. This protein might be a receptor for oxidized free fatty acids and has proton-sensing capabilities.
