F2RL3
A protein from the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family is encoded by this gene. The extracellular amino terminus of the encoded cell surface receptor is cleaved by proteases, which produces a new amino terminus that functions as a tethered ligand that binds to an extracellular loop domain. It has been demonstrated that activating the receptor causes blood vessels to widen, improves blood flow, and lowers blood pressure. Along with innate and adaptive immunity, this protein is crucial for the inflammatory response.
