ESRRG
A member of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily's estrogen receptor-related receptor (ESRR) family is encoded by this gene. A DNA binding domain made up of two C4-type zinc finger motifs is shared by all members of the ESRR family. The ESRR family members are orphan nuclear receptors that bind to the estrogen response element and the steroidogenic factor 1 response element and, in the absence of ligands, activate the genes regulated by both response elements. The estrogen receptor (ER) family and the ESRR family are closely linked. The ESRRs appear to interfere with the ER-mediated estrogen response in a variety of ways because they share target genes, co-regulators, and promoters.
