DRD4
The D4 subtype of the dopamine receptor is encoded by this gene. Adenylyl cyclase is inhibited by the G-protein coupled receptor of the D4 subtype. It is a target for medications that treat Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia. The attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autonomic nervous system dysfunction, and the personality trait of novelty seeking have all been linked to mutations in this gene.
