DRD3
The D3 subtype of the five (D1-D5) dopamine receptors is encoded by this gene. The G proteins that block adenylyl cyclase are the mediating factor in the activity of the D3 subtype receptor. The limbic regions of the brain, which are linked to cognitive, emotional, and endocrine activities, are where this receptor is found. Hereditary essential tremor susceptibility may be correlated with genetic variation in this gene.
