CCR6
The beta chemokine receptor protein that this gene produces is projected to be a seven transmembrane protein, much like G protein-coupled receptors. Memory T cells and immature dendritic cells express the gene preferentially. This receptor's ligand is called macrophage inflammatory protein 3 alpha (MIP-3 alpha). This receptor may control the migration and recruitment of dentritic and T lymphocytes during inflammatory and immunological responses. It has been demonstrated to be crucial for B-lineage maturation and antigen-driven B-cell differentiation.
