CCKAR
The cholecystokinin (CCK) family of peptide hormones, which contain non-sulfated members, are bound by a G-protein coupled receptor encoded by this gene. The gallbladder and stomach's smooth muscles and pancreatic enzyme production are both physiologically mediated by this receptor. This receptor controls dopamine and beta-endorphin release as well as satiety in the central and peripheral nervous systems. In both the central and peripheral neural systems, it regulates eating and dopamine-induced behavior. By collaborating with G proteins, which turn on the phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system, this receptor exerts its effect.
