CACNA1D
Voltage-dependent calcium channels are involved in a number of calcium-dependent processes, such as muscular contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. They mediate the entry of calcium ions into excitable cells. Multisubunit complexes called calcium channels are made up of alpha-1, beta, alpha-2/delta, and gamma subunits. The pore-forming alpha-1 subunit controls channel activity, with the other subunits serving as auxiliary regulators.
