CACNA1B
The pore-forming subunit of an N-type voltage-dependent calcium channel, which regulates neurotransmitter release from neurons, is a protein that is encoded by this gene. The high-voltage activated channel is created when the encoded protein joins forces with the alpha-2, beta, and delta subunits. While insensitive to dihydropyridines, this channel is responsive to omega-conotoxin-GVIA and omega-agatoxin-IIIA.
