ASIC1
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the degenerin/epithelial sodium channel (DEG/ENaC) superfamily and is a member of the acid-sensing ion channel (ASIC) family. Members of the ASIC family play a role in neurotransmission and are amiloride sensitive. The encoded proteins have roles in memory formation, pain transmission, touch perception, and fear.
