ADRA2B
ADRA2B encodes a seven-pass transmembrane protein. This protein belongs to a subfamily of G protein-coupled receptors that control the central nervous system's sympathetic and adrenergic neurons' neurotransmitter release. Familial Adult Myoclonic Epilepsy and mild cognitive impairment are two conditions linked to ADRA2B. Response to increased platelet cytosolic Ca2+ and activation of cAMP-dependent PKA are two of its associated mechanisms. G protein-coupled receptor activity and alpha2-adrenergic receptor activity are two GO annotations for this gene.
