ACKR1
This gene encodes a membrane protein that is glycosylated and functions as a general chemokine receptor. The human malarial parasites Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium knowlesi are receptors for the encoded protein. The Duffy blood group system is built on the basis of polymorphisms in this gene.
