    Applications
The RXRG gene in humans codes for the nuclear receptor known as retinoid X receptor gamma, or RXR-gamma. A member of the nuclear receptor family known as retinoid X receptor (RXR) family, which is implicated in mediating the antiproliferative actions of retinoic acid (RA), is encoded by this gene. Together with the thyroid hormone, vitamin D, and retinoic acid receptors, this receptor produces heterodimers that enhance transcriptional activity on the corresponding response element as well as DNA binding. Non-small cell lung cancer cells express this gene at much lower levels. Different isoforms encoded by alternative transcriptional splice variants have been identified and described. The customized RXRG stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Published Data

Fig.1 Western blot and immunohistochemical expression of RXRG in breast cancer.

RXRG expression in MCF-7 and MDA-MB231 breast cancer cell lines was detected by Western blotting with a rabbit polyclonal antibody. RXRG and housekeeping Beta-Actin are represented by green and red bands, respectively.

    Research Highlights

RXRG stimulates the differentiation of chicken ESCs into PGCs by positively regulating the PPAR signaling pathway. Therefore, the regulation of PGC differentiation in chickens can be studied using gene RXRG.

A member of the nuclear receptor superfamily, retinoid X receptor gamma (RXRG) is involved in the suppression of tumors. The purpose of this study is to investigate the prognostic relevance of RXRG in breast cancer.
