    Applications
    The placenta and ovarian corpora lutea in females, as well as the prostate in males, are the primary sites for the production of relaxin, a small heterodimeric peptide hormone of the insulin/relaxin superfamily. RXFP1 is a cognate receptor of RLN that is produced in the placenta and is also known as leucine-rich repeat G-protein coupled receptor (LGR7). In rodents, the endothelium and vascular smooth muscle of the systemic vasculature express RLN and RXFP1, but in humans, the umbilical endothelium and vascular smooth muscle express RXFP1. Furthermore, as a receptor for the relaxin protein hormone, RXFP1 is essential for sperm motility, pregnancy, and parturition. This gene's reduced expression may contribute to endometriosis. The customized RXFP1 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.
