    The NR1H3 gene in humans encodes the nuclear receptor protein known as liver X receptor alpha (LXR-alpha). The nuclear receptor superfamily's subfamily comprising the liver X receptors, LXRα and LXRβ, is responsible for regulating macrophage activity by governing transcriptional programs linked to inflammation and lipid balance. Through the action of deiodinases, they are crucial in the local activation of thyroid hormones. While LXRβ is present everywhere, the inducible LXRα is primarily expressed in the liver, adrenal gland, gut, adipose tissue, macrophages, lung, and kidney. Target genes containing LXR response elements are expressed differently by retinoid X receptors (RXRs) and ligand-activated LXRs, which form obligatory heterodimers with them. The shift from psoriatic to symptomless skin may be aided by the restoration of LXR-alpha expression or function within a psoriatic lesion. The customized NR1H3 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.
