    Applications
The MAPK8 gene in humans codes for the widely distributed enzyme mitogen-activated protein kinase 8, or JNK1. This gene codes for a protein that belongs to the JNK and MAP kinase families. Involved in a multitude of cellular activities, including development, transcription control, differentiation, proliferation, and differentiation, MAP kinases serve as an integrating point for various biochemical signals. This kinase controls immediate-early gene expression in response to cell stimuli by activating in response to different cell stimuli and targeting particular transcription factors. It is discovered that TNF-alpha-induced apoptosis requires the activation of this kinase. Additionally, UV radiation-induced apoptosis, which is believed to be connected to the cytochrome c-mediated cell death pathway. The customized MAPK8 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

LoxP/Mapk8 LoxP To produce Mapk8 −/− Mapk9 −/− cells (JNK KO), 4-hydroxytamoxifen was applied to Mapk9 −/− RosaCre ERT mouse kidney epithelial cells. Using immunoblot analysis, JNK expression in Control (RosaCre ERT) and JNK KO cells was investigated.

    Research Highlights

MAPK8 activated the MAPK signaling pathway, which increased glioblastoma cells' resistance to TMZ, sped up cell proliferation, and prevented apoptosis.

By targeting MAPK8 and FAS, EGF inhibits the expression of miR-92a-1-5p, which may be regulated by STAT1/STAT3. This, in turn, enhances the expression of MMP-2/MMP-9 and controls the invasion of HTR-8/SVneo cells.
