    Applications
Instructions for producing a highly active protein in the brain, where it is believed to be crucial in nerve cell growth and development, are provided by the LIMK1 gene. Research indicates that this particular protein could have a significant function in brain regions that handle the processing of visual-spatial data. These brain regions are necessary for writing, sketching, building models, and putting puzzle pieces together, as well as for perceiving a thing as a collection of parts. It is probable that the cytoskeleton, the structural framework that aids in determining cell shape, size, and mobility, is regulated in part by the LIMK1 protein within cells. Actin filaments are long, thin fibers that are a component of the cytoskeleton. The LIMK1 protein aids in the regulation of actin filament organization. The customized LIMK1 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Published Data

Fig.1 Nuclear LIMK1 contributes to the aggressive phenotype of HCC cells in vitro.

The expression of LIMK1 in HCC cell lines was shown by Western blot analysis, and the relative protein abundance was calculated by normalizing to GAPDH.

    Research Highlights

Actin dynamics is mostly regulated by LIM domain kinase 1 (LIMK1). Thus, it presents a possible therapeutic target for the avoidance of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and fragile X syndrome.

One common type of metastasis among individuals with advanced gastric cancer is peritoneal metastasis. The present investigation has revealed that LIM domain kinase 1 (LIMK1) is a promising therapeutic target for dabrafenib (DAB) and has been identified as a promoter of gastric cancer peritoneal metastasis.
