Published Data
Fig.1 Co-immunoprecipitation experiments.
Using 5-HTR1E or CPE antibodies, LN-18 cell extracts were immunoprecipitated (IP), followed by immunoblotting with anti-CPE or anti-5-HTR1E antibodies; the arrowhead denotes co-precipitated CPE and 5-HTR1E protein bands. Positive controls included whole cell lysate (WCE), whereas IP controls included regular rabbit or mouse serum (IP Ctrl).

Research Highlights
It has been extensively researched how stress chemicals, particularly glucocorticoids, can create an immunosuppressive microenvironment. Other stress-related neurotransmitters, such serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT), are just now beginning to be understood for their effects on the emergence of cancer.

According to these results, serotonin interaction with the 5-HTR1E receptor in HEK293 cells concurrently activates the cAMP and ERK pathways, and its expression is crucial for cell survival.
