    Applications
MRP3 (ABCC3) is a transporter protein that facilitates the basolateral export of hepatocyte-produced bile salts and organic anions such as glutathione and glucuronide conjugates. Its affinity and expression in normal liver are low for bile salts. In the livers of people with Dubin-Johnson syndrome and during cholestasis, basolateral MRP3 expression is elevated. Mrp3 is markedly up-regulated in bilirubin-UDP-glucuronosyltransferase-deficient Gunn rats, bile duct-ligated rats, Mrp2-deficient TR− and EHBR rats. The nuclear hormone receptors PXR and CAR that are activated by drugs control MRP3 transcription. Less is known about the natural factors that cause MRP3 to be induced. Therefore, Mrp3 may be triggered by cellular stress caused by lipid peroxidation. The predominant glutathione and glucuronide conjugate overflow system is MRP3. The customized ABCC3 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Published Data

Fig.1 ABCC3 is overexpressed in breast cancer samples and cancer cell lines.

The ABCC3 gene expression in breast cancer cell lines (BT-474, T-47D, MCF-7, MDA-MB-231, and HCC-1806) and immortalized breast cell lines (HBL-100 and MCF-10A) assessed by qPCR is displayed in a scatter plot.

    Research Highlights

ATP Binding Cassette (ABC) transporters are one of the main mechanisms behind chemoresistance and are often overexpressed in various cancer types.

In the context of breast cancer, this work emphasizes the significance of ABCC3 transporters in drug resistance to chemotherapy. Furthermore, our findings imply that regular chemotherapy in conjunction with combinatorial inhibition of these transporters can lessen therapy-induced resistance in breast cancer.
