TNFRSF4
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the TNF-receptor superfamily. It has been demonstrated that this receptor interacts with the adaptor proteins TRAF2 and TRAF5 to activate NF-kappaB. According to mouse knockout experiments, this receptor reduces apoptosis by promoting the expression of the apoptosis inhibitors BCL2 and BCL2lL1/BCL2-XL. The deletion studies further revealed that this receptor plays a part in CD4+ T cell response, B cell proliferation, and differentiation that is dependent on T cells.
