NECTIN2
One-pass type I membrane glycoprotein with two Ig-like C2-type domains and an Ig-like V-type domain are the products of this gene. One of the plasma membrane elements of adherens junctions is this protein. It also acts as a portal for some mutant strains of the herpes simplex virus and the pseudorabies virus, which are involved in the transmission of these viruses from cell to cell. Various levels of multiple sclerosis severity have been linked to variations in this gene.
