GPR39

This gene encodes a rhodopsin-type G-protein-coupled receptor, which is a member of the ghrelin receptor family (GPCR). The encoded protein participates in zinc-dependent signaling in salivary glands, prostate, and intestinal epithelial tissue. The pathophysiology of depression may also be influenced by the protein.
