FCGR2B
This gene encodes a protein that functions as a low affinity receptor for immunoglobulin gamma complexes' Fc region. The encoded protein controls B-cell synthesis of antibodies as well as the phagocytosis of immunological complexes. This gene's variations may make people more susceptible to developing systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
