    Applications
Kinase tyrosine-protein Interleukin-2-inducible T-cell kinase, or ITK/TSK for short, is a protein that is encoded by the ITK gene in humans. ITK is a kinase that belongs to the TEC family and is highly expressed in T cells. An intracellular tyrosine kinase expressed in T-cells is encoded by this gene. It is believed that the protein contributes to T-cell differentiation and proliferation. For Th2 and Th17 cell growth and effector function, ITK is functionally significant. It was demonstrated that mice deficient in ITK were resistant to asthma. The customized ITK stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

Fig.1 ITK expression in four T-cell lines.

ITK and phosphorylated ITK (p-ITK) were expressed in Western lysates from Jurkat, MOLT4, CCRF CEM, and K299 both at baseline and after a 24-hour treatment with ITK inhibitors PF-06465469 (2 µM) and ibrutinib (2 µM).

    Research Highlights

T cells are the primary organs where ITK (IL-2-inducible tyrosine kinase), a member of the Tec family of kinases, is expressed. It is implicated in Th2, Th9, and Th17 responses, which regulate the synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines, as well as T cell growth and other TCR signaling events.

Depending on the rater, segmentation time is shortened between 2.5 and 5 times compared to manual segmentation. Further tests in interactive 3D fetal ultrasound placenta segmentation demonstrate how the new technology can be used to a different issue domain.
