    Applications
In Pima Indians and Caucasians, the 1q21-q23 area contains the INSRR gene, which codes for the insulin receptor-related receptor (IRR). This region has been linked to type-2 diabetes mellitus. IRR may be important in controlling the mass of β-cells that produce insulin, even if the ligand and biological function of this receptor are still unknown. Its tyrosine kinase phosphorylates proteins implicated in insulin signaling. Defects in INSRR may thereby increase a person's risk of developing type-2 diabetes. The customized INSRR stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Published Data

Fig.1 Characterization of IR mutations found in human patients.

HepG2 cells expressing either the wild-type (WT) or mutant forms of IR-GFP were starved for 14 hours, subjected to the recommended inhibitors for 4 hours, and then labeled with DAPI (blue) and anti-GFP.

    Research Highlights

The expression of INSRR was associated with T cells CD8, T cells gamma delta, active dendritic cells, and resting dendritic cells. INSRR is a biomarker for immune invasion prediction that is connected to the immunological microenvironment in GBM.

The tyrosine kinase receptor When the extracellular medium's pH climbs above 7.9, the alkaline pH sensor known as IRR (insulin receptor-related receptor) becomes active. IRR expression is specialized; specific organs and cell types express the receptor.
