    Applications
The GSK3B gene in humans codes for the enzyme glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta (GSK-3 beta). The Gsk3b gene in mice encodes the enzyme. An elevated risk of bipolar disorder is linked to aberrant GSK-3 beta expression and control. Proline-directed serine-threonine kinase glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) was first discovered to phosphorylate and inactivate glycogen synthase. Alpha (GSK3A) and beta are two isoforms that exhibit a high level of amino acid similarity. GSK3B has a role in the establishment of body patterns, neuronal cell development, and energy consumption. It could be a fresh target for ischemic stroke treatment. The customized GSK3B stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Published Data

Fig.1 Expression, phosphorylation, and activity of GSK3b in the two cell lines.

GSK3b expression and the amounts of pGSK3b S9, pGSK3b Y216, and b-actin were measured by Western immunoblotting on protein extracts from HEK293 and PANC-1 cells. NRIKA identified GSK3b activity in PANC-1 and HEK293 cells.

    Research Highlights

Tau protein is phosphorylated by GSK3B, a key kinase that synthasizes glycogen synthase. One of the main characteristics of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is hyperphosphorylated tau. The exact function of GSK3B in AD pathogenesis remains unclear despite a great deal of research.
