    Applications
Mammals have seven distinct genes that make up the mammalian casein kinase 1 (CK1) gene family: CKIa, b, g1, g2, g3, d, and e. These enzymes play a crucial role in signal transduction pathways, controlling various oncoprotein and transcription factor activities as well as cell growth, division, and differentiation. Casein kinase I gamma1 isoform, or CSNK1G1, is crucial for cell survival because it shields regulatory proteins during apoptosis from being degraded by caspase. Clinical applications for inhibitors may include the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. The customized CSNK1G1 stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Published Data

    Fig.1 circCSNK1G1 is upregulated in OA-affected cartilage.

CircSNK1G1 expression was found in the cartilage tissues of OA patients, which helps to elucidate the function of circRNAs in the disease. In contrast to normal cartilage tissue, OA-affected cartilage showed a clear upregulation of circCSNK1G1 expression. These findings suggest that circCSNK1G1 might have a regulatory function in the development of OA.

    Research Highlights

The protein encoded by CSNK1G1, casein kinase 1 gamma-1 isoform, is involved in cell development and morphogenesis. This protein is widely expressed in a variety of tissues, including the brain, where it contributes to synaptic transmission and controls the phosphorylation of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors.

Through modulating the miR-28-5p/LDHA pathway, Circ-CSNK1G1 stimulates cell migration, invasion, proliferation, and glycolysis metabolism during TNBC formation.
