    Applications
The human enzyme casein kinase I isoform delta, commonly referred to as CKI-delta or CK1δ, is encoded by the CSNK1D gene, located on chromosome 17 (17q25.3). It belongs to the family of serine/threonine specific eukaryotic protein kinases known as CK1 (previously known as casein kinase 1), which includes seven different isoforms (CK1α, γ1-3, δ, ε) and several post-transcriptionally processed splice variants (transcription variants, TVs) in mammals. In the meantime, analogous proteins of CK1δ have been isolated from plants, algae, yeast, basidiomycetes, and protozoa. The customized CSNK1D stable cell line can be used in antibody discovery and development, potential drug candidate screening and signaling pathway researches.

    Published Data

Fig.1 Effect of CSNK1D inactivation on the migration of the triple negative breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231.

A wound healing experiment was used to assess representative images of the cell migratory capacity of shNT and shCSNK1D throughout a 24-hour period.

    Research Highlights

While AFP is not as good at predicting the prognosis of HCC patients, CSNK1D is an independent factor that influences the prognosis of HCC patients and may be developed as a possible therapeutic target for HCC.
Zhang, Huiting, et al. "Upregulation of the Stress-Induced Protein Kinase CK1 (CSNK1D) Protein is Associated with a Poor Prognosis in Hepatocellular Carcinoma." Genetic testing and molecular biomarkers 25.7 (2021): 504-514.

According to these findings, CSNK1D may have an impact on the stemness and invasiveness of GSCs, which may make it a viable target for treatment in GBM patients. It also appears to be connected with the prognosis of GBM.
